Camel BehaviorCamels are herbivores. They are ruminants, and their stomach has three sections. Camels eat grass, herbs, and leaves. Camels can go for days with no water or food, and can close their nostrils completely to block out sand. These animals live alone or in groups of up to 30 individuals. Groups are led by a single adult male. During the breeding season dromedary males become very aggressive towards each other.
